Yoga Nidra – Dissolve inner stress and experience a profound state of peace and tranquility

Did you know that yoga can be practiced without performing physical exercises?

Yoga Nidra will give you the understanding and experiential exercises needed to genuinely dissolve stress into inner peacefulness and joy with the experience of profound contentment and wholeness. Physical comfort and relaxation are experienced, mental and emotional distress is minimized, limiting beliefs are lessened and intuitive awareness and wisdom blossom to guide our perceptions, interpretations and actions. These qualities become more available throughout the day the more we dwell in the Yoga Nidra state of consciousness. Yoga Nidra is not a religion.

To live happy, healthy and fulfilling lives, we must learn to live in harmony with life in the midst of stressful conditions as well as enjoying the good times.

Yoga Nidra has exactly what it takes to accomplish this because it combines the profound principles and practices of yoga’s wisdom teachings with powerful mind body techniques. Yoga Nidra systematically and effectively combines the best of stress management, relaxation training, guided imagery, and meditation.

It has practical tools you can use for quick relief when bombarded by stress, teaches ways to prevent reacting to stress inappropriately, and gives long-lasting results. It is relaxing, reflective, and revitalizing.

You can experience stress relief right away. There is no need to know anything about yoga to gain these benefits. All you have to do is practice the yoga Nidra exercises. Practicing each exercise as a whole is recommended in the beginning to get the full effect. Just the same, focusing on the segments that you prefer is quite helpful, especially if time is short. The time needed ranges from minutes to up to an hour. While attending yoga Nidra classes is helpful and enjoyable, there is no need to do so.

Though it comes from the yogic tradition, Yoga Nidra doesn’t look like a typical yoga class. As you listen to a guided meditation, you are gently taken into complete inner stillness, effortlessly releasing into a healing state that works on both cellular and subtle body levels.

During Yoga Nidra, you enter a profound state of receptive relaxation, all the while remaining totally aware and alert throughout its process. Yoga Nidra invites your innate intelligence and intrinsic clarity to rise to the surface of your conscious mind, allowing you to uncover and access the wisdom resources of your higher levels of consciousness. Your innate intelligence knows the exact solutions, revelations and resolutions that you need in order to address all the various issues, problems, questions, and conundrums that you face in your daily life.

It is a deceptively simple practice. Because yoga Nidra is most often taught lying down – initially guided by a teacher – it is appealing to people who might feel intimidated by yoga postures or traditional seated meditation. A short version of yoga Nidra can be introduced and practiced in less than ten minutes. Yet its various elements, taken together and practiced regularly, make up a sophisticated set of mind-body tools that can help practitioners navigate some of life’s harshest moments. Yoga Nidra can also be practiced as an accessible form of meditation for those seeking everyday well-being. If you have back problems, you can do Yoga Nidra in a seated position.

In Yoga Nidra, perhaps the most effective means of training the mind is found in Sankalpa, which you make for yourself during each practice. Anything in life can fail you, but not the Sankalpa made during Yoga Nidra.

Sankalpa is a Sanskrit word which can be translated as resolve or resolution. It is an important stage of Yoga Nidra and a powerful method of reshaping your personality and direction in life along positive lines. If you know what you wish to achieve in life, Sankalpa can be the creator of your destiny?

I have not found a more effective or reliable method for relieving stress, feeling the peacefulness of relaxation, revitalizing the body, understanding and managing emotions, quieting the mind, experiencing unbounded consciousness and awakening the compassionate heart than Yoga Nidra.

Pointing you to your most authentic self is the ultimate purpose of Yoga Nidra because that is where your internal power switch lies. In today’s modern world, we are disconnected from our authentic self because we’re fixated only on our physical body – through exercise, nutrition, weight loss and health care, for example. The problem is that the physical body isn’t where our internal power switch sits. Instead, accessing this power switch requires accessing all of your five bodies, and this allows your Soul to fulfill its purpose.

Each time I experience Yoga Nidra, I return to my essential nature and sense a profound shift in the flow of consciousness. It is as though a door opens and stagnant energy has a way out to allow for a fresh understanding of the inherent order of things to emerge.

Colors seem brighter; difficulty seems to exist in a larger context and being content feels much more available after just ten or twenty minutes. Yoga Nidra grants an awareness of the harmony in all that is and generates a sensation of pure acceptance.
