Frequently Asked Questions

If you have any questions that you don’t see answered on this page, please contact us.

Q: Can anyone register for the course?  What are your prerequisites?

A:   Anyone over the age of 16 can register for any of our courses.  There are no prerequisites in terms of educational background or qualifications, so even if you have not completed High School, you are welcome to study with us.  We believe that everyone has a right to education of their choice and do not discriminate against anyone for any reason.

Q:  What I can I do, after I have completed the course?

A:  It depends on which course you have chosen.  If you complete one of our practitioner courses, you can start your own business seeing clients, or add it on your menu of offerings if you are already a therapist.  Some of our courses are for self-development and self-healing.  Once you have completed any courses in this category, you can move on to studying one of our practitioner courses, or attunement packages.  Once you have received an attunement from any of our attunement packages, you are able to pass them on to others and charge for it.

Q: How are students assessed for proficiency?

A:   Students are given assignments and quizzes and, in the case of practitioner courses, a small amount of case studies, to monitor their progress and assist us in our assessment.  The assignments are open book as we do not believe that parrot-fashion learning is beneficial to anyone, but rather the student needs to understand what they have learnt and know how to use it in practical terms.  Assignments are reviewed within 48 hours of receipt, and feedback given to the student.

Q:  Do I get a certificate on completion of my course?

A:  Yes, once you have successfully completed the assignments, and case studies if applicable, you will receive either a certificate of completion (in the case of attunement packages or self-development courses), or a practitioner diploma in the case of our practitioner courses.  In the case of Reiki 1 to Masters you will receive 3 certificates (one for each level).

Q: Do I get access to a tutor or student advisor?  What support is there?

A: Yes, once you have enrolled on any course, you receive full tutor access via email.  We do offer limited WhatsApp support, however, for record-keeping purposes, we prefer to communicate via email.  Student support is available directly from the course creator and vice-principal.  We do not make use of virtual assistants or random PAs.  We are available Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (local SA time), although we will usually answer your emails even outside of these hours.  For receiving attunements, we do these any day and time of the week, up to 9 p.m. at night (SA local time), including on Sundays.

Q: How long can I access my course for?

A:  As our courses are currently in downloadable format, you get to keep your course forever, so you can constantly refer back to it to refresh your memory.

Q: Is there a time limit within which to complete a course?

A: There are no time limits or deadlines, although with the Full Access you get two years within which to complete your studies.  Study at your own pace entirely.  Even if you don’t study for a whole year, you can resume your studies and pick up where you left off, without paying any penalties or rejoining fee apart from the Full Access (please contact us for details).

Q:  How long will the course take me to complete?

A:  It depends how much time you have to study every week.  The majority of our courses will take you between 150 to 250 hours.

Q: Other than the course fee, are there any additional fees, such as admin, registration, assessment, reviewing of case studies, etc.?

A: No, your course fee covers everything you need.

Q:  Are students able to interact with each other?

A: If you are on Facebook, you will have access to our exclusive online student community, where we post regular freebies, inspirational and motivational posts, as well as study advice. Students can also arrange get-togethers with other students who live near to them, as well as provide peer support and ask questions – these are independent to Sunshine and need to be organized and managed by the respective person starting the group.
